        Halloween is a festival celebrated  on 31st October every year. The tradition originated with the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain, when people would light bonfires and wear costumes to ward off ghosts.

All Saints' Day (1st November) - A Christian solemnity celebrated in honor of all the saints of Christianity, whether they are known or unknown, who have attained heaven. It is celebrated on 1st November by the Roman Catholic Churches, as well as many Protestant churches.

Important Points To Take Note: If You intent to Burn Paper Offerings to Saints, do not offer Hell Notes (Ancestors Money). "Hell Notes" are Spiritual offerings to ghosts, not to Heavenly Beings. Burn the Correct Joss Papers to the Saints, such as the *Golden Joss Papers*.

      

All Souls' Day (2nd November) - A day of prayer and remembrance for the faithful departed, observed by certain Christian denominations, including Roman Catholicism and certain parts of Lutheranism and Anglicanism on 2nd November. Through prayer, intercessions, alms and visits to cemeteries, people commemorate the poor souls in purgatory and gain them indulgences.

All Souls' Day is a day to pray for the souls of deceased family members / ancestors.

Folks around the world who observe All Souls' Day, may include the activity of burning Hell (Bank) Notes (Ancestor Money) and *Ancestor Joss Papers*  to their Deceased Loved Ones / Ancestors.

Extra Information - Folks from different countries have their own unique ways of observing this day:

1. In Mexico, people create private altars for their ancestors and decorate them with photographs, flowers, candy skulls, and candles.
2. In the Philippines, people cook their deceased loved one’s favorite foods for a feast with friends and relatives. Many visit their ancestors’ tombs, light candles, and even spend the night there.
3. In Hungary, people keep the lights on in their homes for the duration of the night and leave food on the table in memory of their loved ones.
4. In Poland, families visit the cemeteries where their ancestors are buried and set the night aglow with a veritable bonfire of candles.
5. In Peru, people share a loaf of t’anta wawa with a friend or relative. T’anta wawa is a sweet bread baked into the shape of a doll or small child.

Notice the similarity of All Souls' Day compare to Chinese Version of Qing Ming Festival (清明节) - Tomb-Sweeping Day -  A Day to remember their Deceased Loved Ones / Ancestors.

Joss Sticks are lighted up, food are offered to Deceased Love Ones and Joss Papers are burned as Spirit Offerings.

Simple Rules to follow:

1. *Golden Joss Papers* are burned as offerings to the Deities Level (Saints).
2. Hell Notes (Ancestors Money)  and *Silver Joss Papers* are burned as offerings to the Wandering Ghosts on earth & Spirits in the underworld (Souls in Purgatory).
3. *Ancestor Joss Papers* There are a certain type of Golden Joss Papers & also Silver Joss Papers  catered for Ancestors.

These distinctions between the three categories of spirit money must be followed precisely to avoid confusing or insulting the spirits. The same rules shall be followed while burning Hell Notes / Joss Papers to the Western Saints, Western Ancestors and Western Ghosts.

The Taoist Version Of KARMA - “Cheng Fu” (承负)

When people learn about "Karma", it is base on the Buddhism's and Hinduism's Perspective.  If You search information online, many articles will mention that Karma will only affect ownself and not onto family members. This is not the same as Taoist Version of Karma.

Over here will reveal the Taoist Version of KARMA , known as “Cheng Fu” (承负) - "Inherited Burden". 

Many Westerners don't know that there is "Karma" in Taoism, because they only know about Philosophy Taoism  from Dao De Jing (道德经).

The Taoist Version Of "KARMA" is found in The Taoist Scripture - Tai Ping Jing (太平经) -  'Scriptures of the Great Peace' or 'Scripture On Great Peace'.

There are 2 Explanations :

The 1st Explanation:  善恶承负 -  The Responsibility of Good and Evil

Volume 39 of the Tai Ping Jing (太平经)  says: "承者为前，负者为后。承者，乃谓先人本承天心而行，小小过失不自知，用日积久，相聚为多，令后生人反无辜蒙其过谪，连传被其灾，故前为承，后为负也。负者，流灾亦不由一人之治，比连不平，前后更相负，故名之为负。负者，乃先人负于后生者也，病更相承负也，言灾害未当能善绝也. - "The inheritor is the front, the one who loses is at the back. The inheritor means that the ancestors acted with the heart of heaven, and made small mistakes without knowing it. Over time, they accumulated the mistakes together. In the future, people will have negative consequences. Innocent descendants are relegated due to their faults, and they suffer disasters due to them. Those who lose are those who have been harmed by the ancestors."

It means that if ancestors accumulate virtues and do good deeds, they will be able to influence their descendants; if their ancestors repeatedly make mistakes and do evil, their descendants will suffer innocent disasters. 

That is what people often say: "Forefathers plant trees, and future generations enjoy the shade; forefathers cause trouble, and future generations suffer."  (前人惹祸，后人遭殃。如果是善的话则是前人种树，后人乘凉). 

The 2nd explanation: 天道循环 - The Cycle Of  Heaven's Way

Volumes 73 to 85 of 《太平经合校》(Tai Ping Jing He Xiao) says: “元气恍惚自然，共凝成一，名为天也；分而生阴而成地，名为二也，因为上天下地，阴阳相合施生人，名为三也。三统共生，长养凡物名为财，财共生欲，欲共生邪，邪共生奸，奸共生猾，猾共生害，而不止则乱败，败而不止，不可复理，因究还反其本，故名承负”。-  " The 元气  (Yuan Qi) - 'Vitality Energy' is in a trance and natural, and it condenses into one, which is called heaven; when it divides and produces yin and forms the earth, it is called two, because the yin and yang are combined in the sky and the earth. Giving life to people is called “三” （San）- Three. The "Three systems" coexist, and the cultivation of all things is called ‘财’ (Cai) - Wealth. ‘财’ (Cai) - Wealth coexists with desire, desire coexists with '邪' (Xie) - evil,  '邪' (Xie) - evil coexists with '奸' (Jian) - evil,  '奸' (Jian)  - evil coexists with '猾‘ (Hua) -  Cunning, and '猾‘ (Hua) - cunning coexists with '害’ (Hai) - Harm. If it does  not stop, it will lead to chaos and failure. If the failure does not stop, it cannot be reorganized." , because it goes against its roots, hence the term / name: '承负' (Cheng Fu) - "Inherited Burden".

It means that the three systems of heaven, earth and man coexist and grow and nourish wealth. If there is too much desire, evil will arise, and it will become irreconcilable. Only when the wealth is exhausted will it return to the source of nothingness. 

The first one talks about The Responsibility of Good and Evil (善恶承负), and the second one talks about The Cycle of Heaven's Way (天道循环).

In the Book of Zhou Yi (周易) , which contains 2 parts , Yi Jing (易经) and Yi Zhuan (易传) -  'The Commentary of the Book of Changes' , in the Kun (坤) chapter  - 《易传·文言传·坤文言》 (Yi Zhuan · Wen yan Zhuan ·Kun Wen yan) stated:" 积善之家，必有余庆，积不善之家，必有余殃" -  A family that accumulates good deeds will surely be blessed;  A family that accumulates bad deeds will surely have lingering disasters.. It means: Accumulating virtue and doing good will not only bring good luck to the family, but also bring blessings to the descendants. On the contrary, it will Bring disaster to the family and future generations.

Conclusion: It can be seen from this that the cycle of heaven carries retribution, which is caused by people's evil deeds and desires, and brings great harm to future generations and nature (including society).

The Spiritual Power Of Taoist "Middle Finger" Gesture - Ling Guan Jue (灵官诀)

This article is to share a very important Taoist Hand / Fingers Gesture that most Westerners and Lay Chinese Folks have never seen before. This Fingers Gesture is also not found in any other religions, be it Hinduism, nor Buddhism. It is uniquely found and used in Taoist Rituals and Sorcery Practice. 

The Taoist "Middle Finger" Gesture is called Ling Guan Jue (灵官诀). 'Ling guan Jue' Gesture is a gesture of the Taoist hand formula of the Taoist Dharma Protector - General Wang Ling Guan (王灵官). 

The Taoist "Ling Guan Jue" (灵官诀) is also called "Yu Shu Huo Zhi" (玉枢火指) - The "Fire Finger Of Jade Pivot". It represents knowing the sufferings of the people, saving the people from water and fire, telling the heavens, directing to the jade hub, manifesting spiritual life force energy, and eliminating evil.

Ling Guan Jue (灵官诀) is one of the very powerful 'martial' Hand Gestures that is commonly used during Taoist Spiritual Fighting / Battle to recover the Victims who are possessed by Evil Spirits / Demons. It is often applied on the Possessed Victim's Forehead, together with the recitation of Ling Guan Incantation. 

Take Note: Ling Guan Jue (灵官诀) is performed on the Left Hand. If the gesture is performed on the Right Hand, it is known as "Jing Gang Tie Bi Zhi" (金刚铁笔指) - "Diamond Iron Finger".

Who is Wang Ling Guan (王灵官) - Numinous Official Wang ?

Wang Ling Guan (王灵官) is the most worshipped guardian deity in Taoism. Taoism has a saying of five hundred 'Ling Guans' (灵官) - Spiritual Officials , and Wang Ling Guan is the head of the five hundred spiritual officials, and he is called "Du Tian Da Ling Guan" (都天大灵官).

The image of Wang Ling Guan (王灵官) depicts a red-faced warrior with a warping goatee, a third eye on his forehead, his long-toothed mouth open, wearing a suit of armor, a iron baton in his hand.

Brief Introduction of Wang Ling Guan (王灵官): According to the "Shen Xian Zhuan" (神仙传) - 'Biography Of The Gods' in the Ming and Qing Dynasties: Wang Tian Jun (王天君), the Great Lingguan under the jurisdiction of Nantian (南天辖落大灵官), was originally named Wang E (王恶) - "The Evil Wang", and he was a god gathered from the "Nantian Lihuo Zi Qi" (南天离火之气) - The Energy derived from  Li Fire of Southern Heaven / Sky. Ordered by the Jade Emperor to be the temple god of Xiangyin County, Hunan Province (湖南湘阴县). 

One day, Sa Shoujian (萨守坚), a disciple of the 30th generation of Celestial Master Xujing Zhenren (虚靖真人) in Xihe (西河), also known as Sa Zhenren (萨真人), saw local villagers killing pigs and cattle, and even Sacrificing boys and girls to the temple, which hurt the peace of heaven, so he sent fire talismans, burned the temple, and burned Wang Tian Jun (王天君) with blazing eyes. 

Unwilling to be burned innocently, Wang Tian Jun (王天君)  appealed to the Heavenly Court and asked the Jade Emperor to judge him. The Jade Emperor believed that his feelings were merciful, so he gave him wisdom eyes and a golden whip, and allowed him to follow Sa Zhenren (萨真人) in the shadows. If he found any mistakes, he could avenge his former enemy.

Wang E (王恶) had been following Sa Zhenren (萨真人) for twelve years, observing with discerning eyes, but he had never made any mistakes. Wang Tian Jun (王天君) admired him, not only ignores the previous suspicions, but also worshipped the real person as his teacher, and vowed to follow him.

At this moment, Sa Zhenren (萨真人) changed his name to "Wang Shan" （王善）- "The Virtuous Wang", and also reported to the Jade Emperor to confer him the title of  "Lei Bu San Wu Huo Che Lei Gong (雷部三五火車雷公) - 'Fire carriage numbers Three Five Thunder Duke', also known as "Huo Luo Ling Guan" (豁落灵官).

Although Wang Tian Jun (王天君) divine character is not high, his traces can be seen in various Taoist temples and venues. Most of his shapes are three-eyed, and the one on his forehead is the "wisdom eye" bestowed by the "Jade Emperor". With face as red as fire, he holds a "Golden Whip (Baton)", has a majestic posture, and his eyes are glaring, making people who do wrong and evil in the world feel frightened when they see it, and dare not do evil again.

Many Chinese Folks, even those who pray to Chinese Gods, have no idea who to pray to for the well-being of their own pets.

Not long ago, one client from USA emailed me (Taoist Sorcery Master a.k.a Kumantong 4D Master) and ask about whether there is any celestial deities to invoke that may help his pet dog who was sick to get better, or at least be more comfortable.

It is not as if in ancient times, pets were mostly kept for guarding homes and warehouse crops. 

Nowadays, pets are mostly kept for the purpose of companionship. There will always be a close relationship and mutual dependence between you and your pet. Sometimes, pet owners are always worried and distressed when pets are sick or injured, and pets can't describe their conditions, which makes it more difficult to treat pets.

If there is a medical condition for the pet at home, or when the pet needs surgery, You will be wandering which god You should pray for Your pet when You want to...

There is one Divine Animal next to Er-Lang Shen (二郎神) - The "Roaring Heavenly Dog" (哮天犬). 

According to folklore, before Erlang became a god, he lived in Guan Jiang Kou (灌江口) when he was a child. One day, he met a roaring dog living on the street. He took the roaring dog with him because he felt that he was very compatible with himself.

When Er-Lang Shen (二郎神) was practicing Spiritual Skills, he also taught the roaring dog some spells. The roaring dog was very grateful to  Er-Lang Shen (二郎神) for his appreciation and care, and was loyal to him. 

Although it was one person and one dog on the surface of a master-servant relationship, in their hearts, they were already close buddies. 

The roaring dog would follow  Er-Lang Shen (二郎神) to subdue evils and eliminate demons. 

In many temples that worship Er-Lang Shen (二郎神),  the General Roaring Dog (哮天犬將軍) will be next to him.

Due to its status as an animal god, believers who have pets at home can go to the Temple Of Er-Lang Zhen Jun (二郎真君) to pray to General Roaring Dog (哮天犬將軍) for the health of theirs pets.

The different honorific titles of different gods and goddesses in Taoism

Understanding the "Di Jun(帝君), Dao Jun (道君), Zhen Jun (真君), Xing Jun (星君), Yuan Jun(元君)" in Taoist Mythology 

 There are many "Lords" (Jun - 君) in Taoism, and they are divided into different identities, representing different positions, or in charge of different affairs. What is the difference between them? 

Yuan Jun (元君) - In Taoism, there are not only male gods, but also many female goddesses, and this "Yuan Jun" refers to the female goddesses with relatively high status in Taoism. For example, the Queen Mother of the West, she is called Jin Mu Yuan Jun (金母元君).  Another example, the goddess of Mount Tai, childbirth and destiny in Chinese traditional religion, known as Bi Xia Yuan Jun (碧霞元君). 

Take note: Not all female goddesses in Taoism are given the title as Yuan Jun (元君), which often requires very high  status before they can be named this title.

Xing Jun (星君) - The "Star Lord", honorific title given to the stars in the sky. In the eyes of ancient people, the stars in the sky represent everyone, and the movement of  stars actually  influence human beings. So this also evolved a Taoist technique of Star Gazing.  According to Taoism, the more famous stars in the sky represent different gods.  

Of course, Xingjun is only the title of the middle-level constellation gods, and some gods manage a galaxy, such as the manager of the Taiji Dao galaxy, the Zhongtian Ziwei North Pole Taihuang Emperor(中天紫微北极太皇大帝). Calling him Xing Jun (星君) is an insult to him, because Emperor Zi Wei (紫微大帝) assisted the Jade Emperor in controlling the latitude, the sun, the moon, the stars, the stars, the four seasons, the weather, the wind and the rain, the use of ghosts and spirits, and the master of all phenomena. , Master of the Stars. 

Zhen Jun (真君) - The "True Monarch / Lord".  - Zhen Jun (真君) is actually a title for those middle-level gods in the sky. The status is neither too high nor too low, because immortals who are too low have no titles. They either serve as pawns to others as soldiers of the heavens, or they have little status as servants to the gods. 

For example, Er-Lang Shen (二郎神) is revered by Taoism as Qing Yuan Miao Dao Zhen Jun (清源妙道真君) , Er Lang Xian Sheng Zhen Jun (二郎显圣真君). He is a god related to water conservancy, farming, prevention of floods, and even the god of water. 

 Another example： The three patriarchs Mao Ying （茅盈), Mao Gu (茅固) and Mao Zhong (茅衷) were revered as the Three Mao Zhen Jun (三茅真君), and they were regarded as the patriarchs of the Maoshan School of Taoism. 

Sa Shoujian (萨守坚) of the Four Heavenly Masters is also known as Sa Zhen Ren (萨真人), Chon Gen Zhen Jun (崇恩真君), Taoism respects him as the One Yuan Supreme Saweng Zhenjun (一元无上萨翁真君), Xuanfeng Yongzhen Tianzun (玄风永振天尊) and so on. It can be seen from the above-mentioned immortals that they are also honored as true monarchs by mortals who have acquired the Tao.

Dao Jun (道君) - Dao Jun is a general term for all high-level immortals. He is not a certain type of immortal, but refers to all immortals in high-level positions. In the period of Song Huizong (宋徽宗), he himself believed in Taoism and proclaimed himself Emperor Daojun （道君皇帝). 

In many cases, Daojun refers to Song Huizong. Volume 662 of "Taiping Yulan"《太平御览》 quoted in Tao Hongjing's "Dengzhen Hidden Secret" （南朝梁陶弘景《登真隐诀》） of the Southern Dynasty: "The Three Qing Dynasty and the Nine Palaces also have subordinates, the left is better than the right, and its high general is called Dao Jun (道君),  then followed by Zhen Reng (真人), Zhen Gong (真公), and Zhen Jun (真君)." （“三清九宫并有僚属，例左胜於右，其高总称曰道君，次真人真公、真君。”）

Di Jun (帝君) - "Di Jun" is an honorary title and a symbol of power and status in ancient times. The "Di Jun" was under the Jade Emperor. There were many “Di Jun" in ancient times, and different "Di Jun" were in charge of different functions. 

The most famous ones are: Wen Chang Di Jun (文昌帝君), Dong Hua (东华帝君), Guan Sheng (关圣帝君) - Saintly Emperor Guan, etc. As the leader of all immortals, the Jade Emperor is in charge of the three realms, and can also be called an "Di Jun", but this emperor is special. The Emperor Ziwei (紫薇大帝)is also one of the "Di Jun".
